RNAi Technology

What is RNAi?

Also known as RNA Interference, RNAi is a natural biological process that targets a specific mRNA molecule and neutralizes it to temporarily impact gene expression, essentially “silences” target gene. RNAi is emergingly used in agriculture for biological control of pests and diseases.

PlantArcBio utilizes RNAi for insect control and is pioneer in leveraging RNAi for yield enhancement in crops.

RNAi is a sustainable, non-GMO and fully degradable technology. Each RNAi solution targets a specific gene of a pest or crop, thus achieving the desired impact without affecting other organisms.

PlantArcBio RNAi Expertise

PlantArcBio is a world pioneer in RNAi. Partnering with ICL, we are leading the development of RNAi based bio-stimulants for yield improvement in field crops such as canola, soybean, and rice. Using RNAi technology, we temporarily silence a specific gene that inhibit the crop growth, thereby contributing to significant yield increases.

We are also leaders in developing RNAi for biological insect control in collaboration with our partners. Our projects include RNAi applications for biological pest control of the Red Palm Weevil, the most devastating pest to palm trees, and the Cotton Boll Weevil.

Additionally, PlantArcBio develops formulations independently and with partners to improve the penetration, stabilization, and performance of RNAi.
